2018 Geneva Motor Show Update

March 2018 was the 88th Geneva Motor Show and a successful one for our manufacturers with each bringing out innovative and new class leading technologies as well as improving current models.

Hyundai

Hyundai celebrated the world premiere of the All-New Electric Kona, the All-New Hyundai NEXO and the New Generation Santa Fe.

The Electric Kona is the first fully-electric sub-compact SUV and offers not only practicality that customers need for everyday use but also the generous roominess of an SUV body type. With 204 PS and a range just short of 300 miles*, the Electric Kona proposes something new to be welcomed to the marketplace.

The Electric Hyundai Kona will be available to test drive and order from Smiths Hyundai in late spring, early summer.

Characterised by its sporty, elongated lines and its strong stance, the Hyundai Santa Fe is the largest model of the Hyundai family. With tailored space to suit all lifestyles, the Santa Fe is ready for whatever your adventure may be. Hyundai offers the latest SmartSense active safety and driving assistance features. Meaning that the fourth-generation Santa Fe will make advanced technology even more accessible. Hyundai also announced at the Geneva Motor Show that it plans to launch a hybrid and plug-in hybrid version of the New-Generation model.

The New-Generation Santa Fe is due to arrive at our Hyundai dealership later this year.

Combining the most advanced eco-car technology, the best-in-class driving range and the practicality and space, the All-New Hyundai NEXO. The Hyundai NEXO is the first hydrogen-powered SUV and allows customers to experience what future driving looks like with innovative convenience features. These include remote parking, Blind Spot View Monitor and autonomous driving.

The Hyundai NEXO is scheduled to arrive at Smiths Hyundai late 2018 / early 2019.

Nissan

The loved all-electric, zero-emission new Nissan LEAF was featured as part of Nissan's stand at the 2018 motor show. One new Nissan LEAF is being ordered every 12 minutes in Europe, making it the regions fastest-selling electric vehicle. Nissan revealed that technologies that made their debut on the LEAF have already been rolled out across Nissan’s range of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.

The All-New Nissan LEAF is available to test drive today at Smiths Nissan, Peterborough.

The LEAF’s 40kWh battery is now available on the e-NV200 van as well, increasing its total range by 60% with no reduction in the load-carrying capability of the van.

The Geneva Motor Show was also the stage of the world premiere for the all-electric ABB FIA Formula E Championship race car. The impressive car will make its city circuit debut at the beginning of the 2018/19 season, later this year.

Renault

Renault revealed a new motor for the electric Zoe at this years’ Geneva Motor Show. The Renault Zoe will have a more powerful 80 kW electric motor with additional interior and exterior options available. The new R110 powerplant will combine further power with even greater driving enjoyment whilst offering the same 186-mile real-world range. The increased power can especially be felt at higher speeds however, around town, the R110 motor will still offer instant availability of peak torque. The Renault ZOE is still as nimble as ever, even in the most urban areas.

The model of the Renault Zoe is available to order now at Smiths Renault, Peterborough.

As part of Renault's commitment to the environment and technological enhancements, Renault have also introduced a new-generation 1.3-litre Energy TCe engine for both the Captur and Scenic models.
