Whether you’re heading to the countryside, to the seaside or off on a city break, Vauxhall’s range of passenger cars offer a practical storage solution to make a holiday on the road as relaxing and stress-free as possible. The Grandland X, Astra Sports Tourer and Insignia Sports Tourer, plus the new Combo Life, all offer lots of space and comfort for passengers, as well as equipment to store luggage safely and securely.
Playing to the strengths of the estate car platform, the Astra Sports Tourer and Insignia Sports Tourer both offer lots of space and the flexible storage for luggage. The Astra Sports Tourer up to 1,630 litres of luggage volume*, while the Insignia Sports Tourer offers an additional 35 litres of space. With 1,665 litres of luggage room*, the flagship Vauxhall estate is ideal for fully-packed long distance driving. The same can be said for the brand’s top-of-the-range SUV, the Grandland X, with 1,652 litres of luggage volume* and a high seating position, providing the driver and passengers with good visibility. As an optional extra, all three models can be fitted with a sensor-controlled tailgate, which opens by moving your foot under the rear bumper.
The optional FlexOrganizer, available for the Insignia Sports Tourer, keeps the car boot neat and tidy. Thanks to rails in the floor, divider-nets and various attachments, there is a place for everything in the boot. As in the estates, a grid for protecting the passenger compartment from objects in the boot can also be installed in the Grandland X. To prevent luggage in the boot from moving, even under heavy braking, a safety net that attaches to lashing-eyes in the floor is also available for the Grandland X. Additionally, clever cargo liners such as double-sided mats and water-resistant floor covers make load lugging easy.
A wide choice of flexible transport and carrier systems create additional storage space for drivers that need to carry even more luggage in their Vauxhall. Standard roof bars are available for the Astra and Insignia, while the Grandland X can be fitted with two types of roof bars, one that works in conjunction with roof rails, one without. Roof boxes and bike carriers, which are easy to load and unload, can also be easily installed.

Transport boxes and more for a neat and tidy boot
Families can travel safely and in plenty of organised space in the spacious new Combo Life. The roof becomes an additional transport surface thanks to roof carriers for boxes or bicycles. Other attachments are available so you can carry skis/snowboards, surfboards or kayaks. With four lashing eyes, luggage in the boot can also be secured. Numerous accessories are available for the Combo Life, voted ‘Best Buy Car of Europe 2019’, including various mats and floor covers with anti-slip layers. These protect the luggage compartment from any knocks and scratches during loading and unloading.
The two-way split, foldable transport box measures 61x34x31cm and is particularly practical for holiday road trips. It is useful for carrying smaller objects, such as cards or books that are otherwise left lying around. Once it has been emptied, it can be folded down to a thickness of only 3.0cm.
With the safety of the youngest passengers in mind, Vauxhall also offers child seats and restraint systems for children of all age groups, compliant to the ECE-R 44/04 standard and tailored to fit each model. In the Combo Life, for example, three child seats can be installed next to each other in the second row. The seats can be easily clicked into place, thanks to the ISOFIX attachments or standard three-point belts.
