25 years after the Clio first appeared on UK roads, Renault has announced unveiled New Clio which offers a hot of equipment, engine styling and quality upgrades to the Clio IV. The first versions of the upgraded Clio will appear in showrooms in October.
Clio IV was the first car in the Renault range to feature the brand’s new styling identity in 2012, inspired by the DeZir concept car. New Clio continues in this vain, but adds a full-LED lighting signature with ‘C’ shaped daytime running lights on certain versions.
Both the upper and lower parts of the Clio’s grille have been updated with the latter section being widened in order to modernise the look of the front of the car. At the back, the rear bumper has been redesigned to offer increased strength.
Four new body colours have been added to the range; Mars
Red, Titanium Grey, Arctic White and Iron Blue along with a number of new wheel
designs. On top of this, even more extensive personalisation options will be available
so you can make your Clio your own.
The New Clio now uses the same interior material found in higher-end Renault models. All-new materials are now used for the interior upholstery while the look and feel of the interior plastics have been improved to make the interior of New Clio an even nicer place to spend time. Chrome trim used now has a matte finish while interior colours are now more refined. Overall, New Clio offers improved quality inside and out, offering the perfect balance between a striking exterior design and a high-quality interior.
The powerful, fuel-efficient 1.5 dCi 110 diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox is a new addition to the New Clio’s powertrain line-up, as is the availability of six-speed manual transmission for the TCe 120 petrol engine.As a result, New Clio boasts one of the market’s most extensive powertrain ranges thanks to a choice of eleven engine/transmission combinations
To provide customers with a range of options, the New Clio comes with three different connected multimedia systems, namely Media Nav Evolution, Renault R-Link Evolution and the new, smart R&GO system which is available on entry trim levels.The new Clio is the first B-segment Renault to be available with BOSE quality sound for a memorable audio experience, while a suite of driving aids makes the new car even more versatile and nimble.
In addition to its reverse parking sensor, and depending on the version, the New Clio offers a front parking sensor and a reverse parking camera.Available for higher-end versions, Handsfree Parking allows the driver to fully delegate the completion of parking manoeuvres.
