What Car? Used Car Win for Renault’s Versatile Captur

The Renault Captur SUV has won its price point in consumer-focused motoring magazine What Car?’s annual Used Car Awards, taking the award for the ‘Best Small SUV’ under £11,000.

Explaining the appeal of the Captur to used car buyers, What Car? Used Car Editor Alex Robbins said: “We've always been fans of the way the Renault Captur combines a smooth, quiet ride with a practical, versatile interior to make it one of the most hassle-free ways of carting young kids around. Its compact dimensions make it a breeze to drive in town, too, while out on the open road it's a relaxed cruiser. But what really makes it stand out in its price point is just how much Captur you get for your cash; for this budget, you can get a two-year-old Captur with low mileage, a modern, efficient petrol turbo engine, and loads of equipment thrown in as standard. And that makes it a cracking used car buy!”

A distinctive model with bold looks, the Renault Captur is available in a wide range of colours and its two-tone bodywork has been a hit with customers. The roof, A-pillars and door mirrors can be painted a different colour to the rest of the car, enabling customers to build their perfect car.

Updated at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show with a redesigned grille, an optional panoramic sunroof and optional full-LED Pure Vision C-shaped head lights, the Captur boasts a high level of equipment along with a high-quality interior.

Powering the Captur is a choice of a 90hp Energy TCe petrol engine and a 90hp Energy dCi diesel engine. Both feature Stop & Start technology with a six-speed gearbox. The Energy dCi engine is also available with an automatic gearbox.

The Renault Captur is available in three trim levels: Play, Iconic and GT Line. This simple Easy Life range ensures customers can quickly find the perfect model for them. EasyLife brings enhanced visual appeal, more equipment and competitive pricing to the Captur.

The Playtrim includes 16-inch ‘Adventure’ alloy wheels, contrasting roof and door colour, a hands free keycard as well as automatic lights and wipers. The Iconic trim adds a suite of technology to the Captur, including automatic climate control and rear parking sensors, as well as 17-inch ‘Explore’ alloy wheels and extra-tinted windows. At the top of the Captur range is the GT Line. This sporty trim includes 17-inch ‘Emotion’ alloy wheels, silver skid plates, heated front seats and hands free parking and blind spot warning.

Renault’s R-Link infotainment system is included in the Captur GT Line. This utilises Android Auto to link the driver or passenger’s smartphone to the Captur and mirrors the phone display onto the vehicle’s seven-inch colour touchscreen to enable quick and easy use of the smartphone’s functionality in the car. This includes calling contacts via voice recognition or even asking for your favourite radio station to be played.
