Which? Names Nissan Qashqai the UK's Most Reliable Car

The New Nissan Qasqai has been declared as the UK's most reliable car, after a survey of 50,000 people conducted by the respected consumer affairs organisation Which? It was awarded with a five star reliability rating with testers praising the Qashqai's practicality, dependability and appeal to families.

“Nissan’s efforts with the all-new version have seen it crowned our most reliable car for 2023 – a fantastic achievement for what is one of the more affordable cars in the sector. It’s easy to be dismissive given this is such a new car – after all, newer models tend to be more reliable. But looking at similar aged cars in our survey, not one was reliable enough to get five stars out of five in this category, let alone come anywhere near those at the top. Our data shows that 2023 is set to be the year of the Qashqai.”

David Moss, Senior Vice President of Research & Development at Nissan Technical Centre in Cranfield, where the new model was developed, said:

“We’re delighted that both real-world customers and expert reviewers have recognised the quality and durability of our fantastic new Qashqai.
Our engineering teams put the car through a series of gruelling tests during its development phase to ensure the very highest standards of reliability, so it’s really rewarding to get this recognition from people driving them every day.”

The All-New, British-designed, British-engineered, and British-built Nissan Qashqai is available at Smiths Nissan, Peterborough. Brand new from the ground-up, the Qashqai features the very latest technology and a choice of electrified hybrid powertrains. The car is also available with e-POWER. This innovative hybrid system uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine as a generator to charge a lithium-ion battery which then powers the car. This means the driving characteristics are like that of a fully-electric car, with strong acceleration from a standstill, without the need to charge up. This system allows the petrol engine to always run at its most efficient, leading to superior fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions. Like a Nissan electric vehicle, it is possible drive the New Nissan Qashqai with e-POWER using only the accelerator pedal, with strong regenerative braking slowing the vehicle down.
