The Renault Megane E-Tech Electric is now an even more attractive proposition for car buyers, boasting an enhanced specification while also becoming more affordable than ever.
In addition to its already comprehensive array of standard equipment, the award-winning EV now includes a heat pump on the newly highly-specified entry-level Evolution version – ensuring the entire range features this energy-saving technology. A 12-inch screen for the OpenR Link multimedia system is also introduced on Techno and Iconic trim levels.
Both the mid- and top-range versions now come with contextual adaptive cruise control as standard, further enhancing the model’s high levels of safety, which already include up to 24 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.
Even better, these extra features have not increased the cost of the Megane E-Tech Electric. Efficiencies in the production process have allowed Renault to lower the on-the-road price by £500 across the range, making the zero-emissions-in-use crossover more attainable and better value than ever.
Introducing the heat pump as standard on all versions responds directly to customer demand. The patented heat pump system recovers heat generated by the battery and the electric motor twice as efficiently to ensure optimal cabin temperature while minimising the impact on range. When the outside temperature drops below 10°C, the range of the Megane E-Tech Electric can increase by up to 9%, while maintaining a comfortable interior temperature.
Excess heat is created when the battery and electric motor are under heavy load, such as during rapid recharging or motorway driving. This heat, captured by a circuit of pipes running through the entire battery and motor, is then used to warm the passenger compartment and maximise the vehicle’s range.
Standard features across the range include automatic wipers and headlamps, automatic climate control, LED daytime running lights, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, and an Arkamys audio system. Iconic trim maintains the Harmon Kardon audio system.
The Megane E-Tech Electric can cover up to 280 miles (WLTP) on a single charge, and the standard 130 kW DC charger allows it to recover 186 miles in just 30 minutes. The advanced drivetrain features a 60kWh battery and an electric motor producing 220hp and 300Nm.
