Renault Austral E-Tech Full Hybrid Voted 'Best Family SUV' at Annual Scottish Car of the Year Awards

The Scottish Car of the Year (SCOTY) Awards, held every year since 1997, aim to honor the finest new cars introduced in the preceding 12 months. Judges evaluate vehicles based on criteria such as style, comfort, practicality, performance, and value for money.

The SCOTY Awards 2023 named the Austral E-Tech full hybrid the ‘Best Family SUV’ thanks to the vehicle’s suitability for family households who require a highly usable and connected car.

Motoring writers and industry experts in Scotland praised the Austral E-Tech as a family SUV, not only for the space and technology of the interior, but also for the efficiency of its hybrid powertrain. The judges particularly enjoyed the Austral’s user-friendly, high-tech interior and impressively frugal drivetrains that provide some of the best running costs in its class.

The trim of the Austral E-Tech full hybrid is available in three levels – techno, techno espirit Alpine and iconic espirit Alpine, and is powered by a 200hp petrol/electric hybrid drivetrain that emits as little as 105g/km CO2. It can also achieve up to 60.1mpg (WLTP) which enables it to travel up to 683 miles between stops.

It also offers a digital experience powered by Google, providing access to a range of up to 35 apps, the capability to control home devices through voice commands, and up to 30 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
