Living up to it's 'hybrid by nature' promise, the Renault Arkana has won in the Best Hybrid catagory at the 2022 Auto Trader Awards.
Instead of being decided by a judge panel, the Auto Trader New Car Award winners were selected by over 156,000 individual UK car owners, in which drivers were asked to rate their cars across 16 criteria, from reliability and performance to appearance and running costs. The Arkana took the win with its owners impressed by contemporary, coupe style looks, SUV robustness and modern refinements.
Erin Baker, Auto Trader's Editorial Director said:
“When it comes to the best hybrid car, power, reliability, safety and comfort were factors that consumers valued the most. The Renault Arkana brings all of these, as well as some elegant styling.“When speaking about the French coupé-SUV, owners told us that it’s a very smart, modern, comfortable car. They love it.”
Baker added:
“The Auto Trader New Car Awards recognise the brands and cars that are doing it right in the eyes of those whose opinions matter most: consumers. They prove how manufacturers are taking consumers’ needs into consideration and innovating to bring a great and wide choice to market. Renault, and all of this year’s winners, are incredibly well-deserving.”
The Auto Trader New Car Awards are now in their sixth year, which are part of the UK's largest automotive marketplace which attracts an average of 69 million users per month.
Guillaume Sicard, Country Head UK & Managing Director Renault Brand UK, said:
“We are exceptionally pleased to have won this accolade for the UK’s best hybrid, especially as it has been awarded based on feedback from existing Renault Arkana owners. The hybrid sector is growing at an incredible pace and it’s very rewarding to see that our increasing focus on electrification is proving a hit with car buyers, with the Arkana already one of the top 10 best-selling hybrid SUVs in the UK.”
Renault Arkana was launched in 2021, making it Renault's first purpose built hybrid and the first Renault SUV with coupe styling. All models of the Arkana are offered with an electrified powertrain as standard, with the option of either the advanced E-Tech hybrid, and the TCe 140 mild-hybrid, both of which feature an automatic transmission and produce 145hp.
The Arkana features a sophisticated and sleek design which combines its elevated SUV body and ground clearance, with a coupé-like shape. The front and rear skid plates and the wheel arch protectors enhance the SUV look, while the plunging roofline combined with rising window line deliver an agile and slender curved design that extends to the rear windows, enhancing the dynamic look.
The cabin of the Arkana features the latest interior finishes and design touches to ensure a premium feel and finish as well as exceptional comfort for all occupants. This is combined with one of the largest digital displays in its segment thanks to two screens, as well as advanced connectivity systems which deliver seamless convenience and minimal distraction for the driver.
A 513-litre boot combined with an adjustable boot floor and 60/40 split folding rear seats which can be folded completely make the Arkana practical as well as stylish.
