Hyundai offers a vast range of innovative self-charging hybrids, plug-in hybrids and fully-electric vehicles, including the recent IONIQ 5, KONA Electric, SANTA FE Plug-in Hybrid and TUCSON Plug-in Hybrid. This array of powertrains is unmatched by any manufacturer with the current order bank from UK corporate customers at 76% for EV and plug-in models which is a significant increase from 2021's 51%. Overall, in Europe this has helped to deliver estimated average passenger fleet CO2 emissions of just 90g/km in 2021, which is a reduction of more than a third from the 2010 figure.
IONIQ 5 won 2022 World Car of the Year earlier on this year, with judges complimenting it on it's fast charging capabilities, luxurious and spacious interior and V2L functionality. IONIQ 5 also uses recycled materials for its interior fabrics including components extracted from sugar cane and paperette door details. The car reflects Hyundai's strong stance on climate change and emissions, with the upcoming IONIQ 6 to develop on this even further.
Hyundai has recently been named 'Eco Fleet Manufacturer of the Year' at the 2022 Business Car Awards. The award recognises car brands that offer fleet partners the best options to reduce their carbon emissions, whilst demonstrating a comprehensive understanding to addressing environmental concerns in the wider business.
Martyn Collins, Business Car editor, congratulated Hyundai on their well-earned victory:
"The fact that Hyundai offers fully electric, plug-in hybrid and hybrid models has given fleet buyers the choice they need and all with minimal waiting times. On top of impressive product, Hyundai has taken time to educate buyers on how best to use them, by providing clear information on the financial and eco-friendly benefits of an electrified fleet."
This success follows previous accolades from Hyundai including the 'Most Improved Fleet Manufacturer' at the Fleet News Awards and the 'Best Zero Emission Car Under £40,000' that was given to the KONA Electric. Further awards include Carbuyer's Best Company Car 2022, Company Car and Van Car of the Year and winner at the 2022 Company Car Today CCT100 Awards.
Ashley Andrew, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor UK had this to say on their recent business award successes:
"We are delighted to receive this award from the experts at Business Car, which recognises the effort we have made to further evolve our fleet services over the past few years in tandem with offering a cutting-edge range of vehicles. From fully electric vehicles to self-charging and plug-in hybrids, Hyundai has an outstanding line-up of cars that can cut customers’ carbon footprints with no compromises, and that is being reflected in an increasing number of orders from businesses and corporations who care about their environmental impact."
