Vauxhall keeps the top spot of the UK's best selling car and electric van in 2022 with the Vauxhall Corsa and Vauxhall Vivaro-e, accroding to the latest registration figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
Paul Willcox, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said:
“The Corsa and Corsa-e are continuing their success from last year, and I’m pleased to see the Corsa remain the country’s best-selling new car. Despite ongoing challenges for the industry, the first five months have seen Vauxhall remain a firm favourite with UK buyers. Another of the nation’s favourite cars, the All-New Astra is arriving in the coming weeks, bringing yet more attainable design, innovation and choice of electrification to car buyers."
Corsa has the option of either efficient petrol engines, or a fully electric powertrain, which is powered by a 50kWh battery and a 136PS (100kW) electric motor, capable of driving up to 222 miles* WLTP on a single charge. With support for up to 100kW rapid charging, it only takes 30 minutes to reach 80 per-cent charge.
Paul Willcox, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said:
“The Vivaro-e continues to be the go-to choice for fleets and businesses requiring an efficient and capable zero-emissions-in-use van. The e-LCV sector is a vital and growing sector for the industry as businesses look to reduce overheads and emissions, and it’s fantastic to see the Vauxhall Vivaro-e remain popular with those making the switch to electric.”
Vauxhall's Vivaro-e has multiple accolades to its name including 'Medium Van of the Year' at the What Van? Awards 2022 and 'Best Medium Electric Van' at the Driving Electric Awards 2022. The Vivaro-e was also voted 'International Van of the Year 2021'.
It features a WLTP range of up to 205 miles and a maximum payload of up to 1,226kg, whilst being the forefront of Vauxhall's commitment to electrification whilst the brand continues its successful electric vehicle expansion. Last year, Stellantis announced an investment of £100 million into Vauxhall's Ellesmere Port manufacturing plant with aims to transform the site for a new era of electric vehicle manufacturing.
