The Renault ZOE uses a direct drive gearbox meaning there are no gears to change, making progress smooth and driving in city traffic a joy.

Plus, with features such as rain-sensitive wipers, automatic lights, electrically folding door mirrors and automatic climate control, features usually associated with larger cars, the ZOE aims to make your life as easy as possible.

To take passenger welfare even further, the “Take Care by Renault” pack, which comes as standard on ZOE Signature Nav models, includes an air quality sensor and ioniser to keep the atmosphere in the car’s cabin in the optimum condition.

All ZOE models come fitted with Renault’s R-Link multi-media system fitted as standard. Featuring a 7” touchscreen display, TomTom LIVE satellite navigation and a range of multi-media and car control functions, R-Link is simple to use and enriches the ZOE driving experience.

The satellite navigation system included with R-Link shows the location of charging stations along your route so if you’re heading further afield than a single change can take you, you’ll know where you can top-up your battery to continue your journey - The system even allows you to choose the most efficient route for your journey.

R-Link also comes with its own app store allowing you to add additional functionality to your car including e-mail, weather information and Renault Assistance. Many of the apps are free to download allowing you to personalise your car based on your personal requirements.

Renault has been at the forefront of vehicle safety for many years and the Renault ZOE continues this tradition with the car's engineers have paying special attention to the safety of the battery which is built into the floor of the ZOE. In fact, it was named “Best Supermini” 2013 by Euro NCAP after it was awarded a 5-star crash test safety rating.

Renault ZOE 40 Hill Start Assist
Hill Start Assist - The ZOE's brakes will briefly hold the car in place when the brake pedal is released on an incline. This prevents the vehicle rolling backwards, giving you extra peace of mind and making hill-starts a breeze.
Renault ZOE 40 Range

The Renault ZOE fitted with the new Z.E. 40 battery offers an NEDC range of up to 250 miles*. However, this range is achieved under laboratory conditions and is designed to be used for comparison purposes only. Renault believes that this translates into a range of between 124 miles in winter conditions and 186 miles in more temperate conditions – but a number of factors will influence the achievable range.

Climate conditions

Like all batteries, those in Z.E. vehicles are less efficient in cold weather than at ambient temperature.

When you are driving uphill, more energy is consumed which affects driving range, while driving downhill recuperates energy.

Driving style

Adapt to a more relaxed, gentle driving style by limiting your acceleration and using regenerative braking.

The faster you drive, the more energy you need to maintain your speed.

The Renault ZOE comes fitted with a range of advanced technologies to ensure you get the maximum range possible out of each battery charge:

1. Regenerative Braking

The ZOE's braking system is designed to recover the energy normally lost when slowing down or braking. When you take your foot off the accelerator, or press the brake pedal, the battery automatically begins to recharge helping to optomise the car's range.

2. Heat Pump

The ZOE's heating and ventilation system has been specifically designed to have as little impact on range as possible. To cool the car the system works the same as traditional air conditioning, but to heat the car it works like air conditioning in reverse - a much more efficient method than other car heaters.

3. Michelin Energy E-V Tyres

ZOE is fitted with tyre specifically designed by Michelin for electric vehicles. Energy E-V Tyres offer extra-low rolling resistance to extend range without compromising road holding or braking ability.

4. Chameleon Charger

A Renault innovation, the Chameleon Charger fitted to the Renault ZOE ensures the car is charged using the maximum power available no matter what charger the car is connected to, reducing recharging times. For example, the Q90 motor can charge from 0% to 80% from as little as 65 minutes using the fastest charger type.

5. Pre-conditioning

While your ZOE is plugged-in you can pre-condition the passenger compartment - This means you can heat or cool the car's interior to your desired temperature before you get inside and means the car's battery is not used to achieve this. This function works through the Z.E. Interactive app, a charge of this service may apply after the first year.

New Renault ZOE 40 Charging

Battery & Charging

Fitted to ZOE Dynamique Nav and Signature Nav models, the brand new Z.E. 40 battery gives the Renault ZOE a range of up to 250 miles* NEDC on a single charge. Developed by Renault in conjunction with LG, the battery uses high-density lithium-ion technology to increase battery storage capacity without increasing the battery’s size or weight and without sacrificing safety or reliability – a truly amazing achievement.

The battery is located under the ZOE’s floor to keep the centre of gravity low and improve the car’s handling it is simply to recharge, requires no maintenance and is easy to recycle at the end of its life.

Charging is easy

Charging your ZOE couldn't be simpler, you can even use one of the two Renault Z.E. apps to check on the status of your car's charge while you're away from the vehicle^.
