The Vauxhall Corsa Electric YES Edition, a special version of the UK’s top-selling electric supermini, has been awarded the title of ‘Best Value Car’ at the 2025 Parkers Awards. These awards highlighted the importance of affordable electric vehicles in the growing EV market, and Vauxhall was commended for achieving price parity between electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. The Corsa Electric YES Edition stands out as a prime example of affordable electric car ownership.
This special edition boasts a striking GS-inspired design, featuring exclusive Record Red paint and a contrasting black roof, making it visually appealing. The YES Edition is equipped with a 136PS electric powertrain, and its 50kWh battery provides a range of up to 221 miles (WLTP). Impressively, it can be recharged from 0-80% in just 30 minutes using a 100kW rapid charger, ensuring quick and convenient charging.
Vauxhall introduced the Corsa Electric YES Edition to make its electric models more accessible to a broader audience. In addition to this special edition, Vauxhall have revised the pricing for Corsa Electric, Astra Electric, and Astra Sports Tourer Electric, further supporting affordable electric mobility.
The Corsa Electric lineup starts with the Design trim, followed by the GS and Ultimate versions. The Corsa Electric Long Range, which features a 51kWh battery and a more powerful 156PS motor, offers an extended range of up to 248 miles (WLTP). This model is now available in the entry-level Design trim, making it more accessible to consumers.
In a significant move, Vauxhall also announced that the New Frontera Electric and New Frontera Hybrid will be available at the same list price. This makes Vauxhall the first UK manufacturer to offer price parity between electric and petrol hybrid versions of the same model, a notable achievement in the automotive industry.
Keith Adams, Editor of Parkers, praised Vauxhall for achieving price parity between electric and petrol cars. He noted that the Corsa Electric can be financed for less than its petrol counterpart, which contributed to the Corsa Electric YES Edition being recognised as the 2025 Best Value Car. This accolade highlights Vauxhall’s efforts to make electric vehicles more affordable and accessible.
James Taylor, Managing Director of Vauxhall, expressed pride in the award, emphasising the company’s commitment to making electric mobility accessible to all. Vauxhall’s new pricing structure and five-year PCP offer on electric models aim to make electric vehicles as affordable as petrol models. By the end of the year, Vauxhall will offer a fully electric version of every car and van in its lineup. In 2023, Vauxhall was the UK’s best-selling electric van manufacturer, with the Corsa Electric being the top-selling electric supermini and the Mokka Electric the best-selling electric compact crossover.
Overall, Vauxhall’s efforts to reduce prices and offer competitive financing options demonstrate their dedication to promoting electric mobility and making it a viable option for a wider range of consumers.
