Supporting Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice: Join Us in Making a Difference

At Smiths Motor Group, giving back to our community is something we care deeply about, and this year, we’re proud to support a cause that’s close to our hearts: Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice.

Throughout 2025, our team will be taking on a trio of exciting charity challenges to raise vital funds for this incredible organisation. From football boots to bike helmets and paddles, we’re going all out to support the only specialist palliative care inpatient unit in Peterborough. Here’s what’s coming up:

Charity Football Match

Thursday 8th May 2025, 7pm–9pm
Zeeco Stadium in Stamford

Join us for an evening of friendly competition and community spirit! Whether you're cheering us on from the sidelines or just soaking up the atmosphere, we’d love your support. Spectators are welcome, so bring your friends and family along!

Dragon Boat Festival

Saturday 21st June 2025
Peterborough Rowing Club

It’s time to make waves for a great cause! We'll be taking part in the Peterborough dragon boat festival - and once again, you are invited to come down and cheer on the teams. Expect thrills, splashes, and a great day out!

Charity Bike Ride

Saturday 12th July 2025
Peterborough to Hunstanton

Our team will be swapping keyboards and steering wheels for handlebars as we cycle to raise funds. It's a great challenge, and every mile we pedal will be for a purpose - to help provide compassionate care for those who need it most.

Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice offers expert care for people with life-limiting conditions and provides essential support to families during some of life’s most difficult moments. We’re incredibly proud to support their work, and we know that with your help, we can make a meaningful impact.

We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a carefully selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. We act on behalf of the lender for this introduction and not as your agent. We are not impartial, and we are not an independent financial advisor.

Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next most suitable offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure a suitable finance agreement for you that enables you to achieve your financial objectives. If you purchase a vehicle, in the majority of cases, we will receive a commission from your lender for introducing you to them which is either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you purchase.

Different lenders pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement; however, you will be contributing towards the commission paid to us with the interest collected on your repayments. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will inform you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receive this commission. The exact amount of commission that we will receive will be confirmed prior to you signing your finance agreement.

In the event of disputes we are unable to resolve the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI) National Conciliation Service will offer free impartial advice and when appropriate an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service that we are fully committed to.
