Building on a successful 2024 which delivered a refreshed product lineup, award-winning models, and two of the nation’s favourite cars, Nissan GB is charging into an electrified future.
Nissan stood out as the only UK brand with two models in the top five best-sellers of 2024, thanks to the British-built Qashqai and Juke, which together reached 76,872 new car buyers across the country.
This achievement propelled Nissan GB to 100,446 car sales in 2024—a 12.3% increase from 2023—securing a 5.14% market share, a rise of nearly half a percent year-on-year.
The continued success of the Qashqai and Juke also helped Nissan’s 6,000-strong Sunderland team maintain its title as the UK’s most successful vehicle manufacturing plant. Over half a million electrified vehicles have rolled off its production lines in recent years, contributing to an unmatched total of 11.5 million cars produced since 1986.
Diana Torres, Managing Director of Nissan GB, commented:
"2024 was a challenging year for our industry, and achieving these results is a testament to the dedication of everyone in our organization, including our dealer partners, and the strength of our vehicle lineup. This momentum positions us for an exciting 2025, with new models like the Ariya NISMO on the horizon. I’m confident we have the people, products, and partners to ensure continued success."
In 2024, Nissan’s UK lineup saw significant updates, including refreshed versions of the Qashqai and Juke crossovers, new variants of the X-Trail and Ariya, and the introduction of the Interstar van, available in both diesel and fully electric configurations.
These innovations were widely recognised, with Nissan earning eight awards in 2024 for its new and used vehicle offerings and innovative powertrains. Additionally, UK-based engineering teams received acclaim, with David Moss and his Cranfield-based R&D team winning a prestigious Autocar award for their contributions to engineering excellence.
