Nissan Unveils Third-Generation LEAF: A British-Built Electric Crossover with Enhanced Range and Technology

Nissan has launched the third-generation LEAF, representing a major evolution of its groundbreaking electric vehicle. Reimagined as a sleek and spacious crossover, the new LEAF merges futuristic design, increased driving range, and state-of-the-art features while proudly being manufactured in Britain.

The new model features a refined aerodynamic silhouette, reflecting Nissan’s commitment to both aesthetics and efficiency. A compact 3-in-1 powertrain delivers improved performance while reducing size by 10 percent. With two available battery options, drivers can now enjoy a range of up to 270 miles or 375 miles, depending on the configuration, making long-distance electric driving more viable than ever.

Built at Nissan’s Sunderland plant, the LEAF continues to support the UK’s growing electric vehicle sector and affirms Nissan's dedication to local manufacturing. This move not only sustains jobs but also strengthens the country’s position in the transition to greener transport.

Technologically, the LEAF is packed with features designed to improve safety, comfort, and efficiency. ProPILOT Assist enhances the driving experience by incorporating Intelligent Lane Intervention and Intelligent Cruise Control. Meanwhile, the innovative e-Pedal allows drivers to accelerate and decelerate using a single pedal, simplifying urban driving and reducing fatigue. The vehicle also supports bi-directional charging, allowing owners to power their home or even return electricity to the grid, boosting flexibility and energy efficiency.

Design details also nod to Nissan’s heritage. The unique 3D rear light configuration subtly references the numbers "2" and "3," which are pronounced "Ni" and "San" in Japanese, cleverly tying in the brand’s identity.
