Hyundai SANTA FE and IONIQ 5 N Win Big at 2025 UK Car of the Year Awards

Hyundai has scored a double win at the 2025 UK Car of the Year Awards, with the All-new Hyundai SANTA FE named Large Crossover of the Year, and the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N taking home Performance Car of the Year.

Praised for its practicality, design and powertrain options, the SANTA FE impressed the judging panel with its blend of rugged style and family-friendly functionality. The SUV offers two hybrid options – two- and four-wheel drive – as well as a Plug-in Hybrid, and features a boxy silhouette, fold-flat rear seating, and a tech-packed, spacious interior.

Natisha Chatten, one of the award judges, commented:

“Its impressive equipment and spacious interior make the new Hyundai SANTA FE an incredibly practical choice for families, seamlessly blending style with functionality.”

The SANTA FE builds on a growing list of accolades, including WhatCar?’s Seven-Seater of the Year and Carwow’s Car of the Year.

Meanwhile, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N continues to shake up perceptions of electric performance. Delivering up to 650 PS and sprinting from 0–62 mph in just 3.4 seconds, it has earned praise for its bold design and driver-focused innovations – such as N e-shift and N Active Sound+ – which replicate the thrill of traditional ICE hot hatches.
