The Hyundai IONIQ 5 N has been awarded the title of Best Fun Car in the 2025 Parkers New Car Awards, adding to its impressive streak of successes. Over the past year, the IONIQ 5 N has emerged as a leading contender in the performance EV market, amassing numerous prestigious accolades.

In their eighth year, the Parkers New Car Awards are determined by the website’s expert reviewers, who commended the IONIQ 5 N for the sheer driving pleasure it offers.

Based on the Electrified-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) of the standard IONIQ 5, the high-performance IONIQ 5 N incorporates motorsport technologies from Hyundai’s N division to elevate driving enjoyment. Key technical advancements include enhanced power output and improved battery cooling and braking. The electric motors are capable of spinning up to 21,000 RPM, delivering up to 609 PS, or 650 PS with the N Grin Boost (NGB) feature. This allows the car to achieve 0-62mph in 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 161mph on tracks.

The IONIQ 5 N sets a new standard for emotional engagement in performance EVs with N e-shift, which simulates the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission of internal combustion engine N cars, and N Active Sound+, which produces a soundtrack reminiscent of traditional internal combustion engines.
