Dacia's Record Market Share in 2024

Dacia has enjoyed a successful year in 2024, selling 676,340 vehicles, marking a 2.7% increase compared to 2023. Since its inception in 2004, the brand has now sold over 9 million cars, cementing its position as a key player in the automotive industry.

The brand also reached a record market share, capturing 3.9% of the Passenger Car (PC) and Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) sales in Europe, a 0.1% increase from 2023. Dacia's share of the European PC market grew to 4.5%, also up by 0.1 percentage points from the previous year.

Dacia continued to lead the European retail market, maintaining a market share of 8.2% of sales to retail customers, although this was slightly down by 0.1% compared to 2023. These impressive figures were driven by a strong lineup of core models:

  • Sandero: With 309,392 units sold (up 14.5% from 2023), the Sandero remains Europe’s best-selling vehicle across all channels and the top-selling car in the European retail market since 2017.
  • Duster (Generation 2 and 3): Selling 215,024 units (up 7.3% from 2023), the Duster is the best-selling SUV in the retail market since 2018 and the second most sold vehicle to retail customers in Europe, behind the Sandero.
  • Jogger: With 96,440 units sold (up 2.4% from 2023), the Jogger continues to perform strongly, holding a podium position in the non-SUV C-Segment in the European retail market.
  • Spring: Despite a 63% drop in sales to 22,884 units, the Spring saw a resurgence in the final months of 2024 due to the arrival of a new version in showrooms following a reduction in government grants.

Dacia’s success in 2024 is not just reflected in its sales figures but also in its customer acquisition and retention rates, underscoring the brand’s strong connection with its loyal customer base.

Looking ahead, Dacia is doubling down on its commitment to electrification. The brand plans to expand its hybrid offerings with the introduction of the HYBRID 140 powertrain on the Jogger and Duster and the HYBRID 155 powertrain on the Bigster, marking the Bigster as the first model within the Renault Group to benefit from this new hybrid technology.

With a continued focus on value, efficiency, and sustainable innovation, Dacia is set to maintain its momentum in 2025 and beyond.
