A team of employees from our Peterborough dealership took on the challenge of cycling between our Ilkeston and Peterborough sites in order to raise money for local Peterborough charity, Sue Ryder.
A total of 87 miles were cycled by a team of 8 employees who collectively raised £2,142 for a great charity. The money raised is enough to fund a hospice nurse for three weeks at Thorpe Hall. The total ride took an impressive 8 hours with an hour’s lunch stop at Café Ventoux which proved very popular with the cyclists!
The team was made up of Group Managing Director Daniel Fitzjohn, Charity Co-ordinator Sarah Fitzjohn, Smiths Nissan Director David Smith, Nissan Technicians Chris Harrison, Ashley Cotton, Robert Pratt and Ryan Brown and Renault Technical Supervisor Rory Turner.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Terry Wright Cycles for supplying us with repairs, service equipment and plenty of food to keep our cyclists energy up throughout their ride.
Smiths Motor Group look forward to continuing their work with Sue Ryder and thank all that donated to such a great cause.
